Demonstration | 34th and Walnut Street

UPDATE: All clear in the area. The demonstration has concluded. Traffic flow has resumed.

UPDATE: The demonstration has moved to the 200 block of S. 34th Street. Vehicular traffic is currently restricted in this block. Expect traffic delays in the area.

Traffic details: Currently the 200 block of S. 34th Street is closed to vehicular traffic.

UPDATE: The demonstration remains stationary at the intersection of 34th and Walnut Streets, traffic continues to be restricted in the intersection. Expect traffic delays in the area.

Traffic details: Currently closures of the 100 & 200 blocks of S. 34th Street, and the 3300 & 3400 blocks of Walnut Street.

UPennAlert: At approximately 3:30PM, a scheduled demonstration began in the area of 34th and Walnut Streets in Philadelphia. The demonstration is currently restricting traffic in the intersection at 34th and Walnut Street.

The Division of Public Safety has developed a few helpful risk reduction strategies outlined below. Know that it is never the fault of the person impacted (victim/survivor) by crime.

  • Stay out of immediate area.
  • Stay alert and reduce distractions; using cellphones, ear buds, etc. may limit your awareness.
  • Orient yourself to your surroundings. (Identify your location, nearby exits, etc.)
