PAL Pageant Celebrates Positive Images
On Tuesday, June 9, 2015 the 1st Annual PAL “Positive Attitude Ladies” Pageant was held at the Harold Prince Theatre in the Annenberg Center at the University of Pennsylvania. Ten young ladies from PAL’s Positive Images Girls’ Mentoring Program competed for the title of “Ms. Positive Attitude Lady”. The girls represented PAL centers across Philadelphia by competing in Creative Arts, Talent, Formal Wear and more.
The distinguished judging panel included Kevin J. Bethel, Deputy Commissioner, Patrol Operations, Philadelphia Police Department; Maureen S. Rush, M.S., CPP, Vice President for Public Safety & Superintendent of Penn Police at the University of Pennsylvania; and Susan Slawson, First Deputy Commissioner for Recreation and Programs.
A special thank you to Dr. Michael J. Rose, Managing Director of the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, for his hospitality, and to all of the volunteers who helped to make the event a magical night.

The Police Athletic League of Philadelphia (PAL) helps girls and boys develop self-esteem and ambition through a broad array of educational, athletic and cultural activities in a safe and fun environment. Established in 1947, PAL is a citywide network of youth development centers serving thousands of youngsters, ages 6-18.
