Email Scam Warning
There have been reports of a variation on a sextortion email scam being sent to Penn affiliates. Be aware of the signs of this type of email scam, which may be sent to the recipient in the body of an email or attached to an email in a PDF document. The first line may contain personal information, such as a student’s parent’s names and address, or other personal information which is publicly available. The inclusion of personally identifiable information is an attempt to apply pressure on the recipient to respond.
