DPS Commendation Ceremony Held Wednesday, April 9th
DPS held their spring Commendations Ceremony, in conjunction with the Undergraduate Assembly (UA) and the Graduate and Professional Students Assembly (GAPSA), in Claire Fagin Hall on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 5:45pm.
The presentation included the swearing-in of K9 Officer Socks by Vice President Rush, and the distribution of letters of recognition, merit commendations, and distinguished unit citations for UPPD and Philadelphia police officers, AlliedBarton security officers, PennComm dispatchers and local citizens, recognizing their contributions to making our community safer. A special presentation was given to the graduating MERT members. The first annual John A. Cook award, for the Penn employee who most exemplifies the spirit of fire and emergency preparedness in the Penn community, was awarded to Thomas Hauber, Executive Director of VPUL facilities.
