DPS Co-hosts Training Seminar with the Anti-Defamation League

On Wednesday, August 15, 2012, Public Safety and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) co-hosted the training seminar “Hate Motivated Behavior on Campus” for Campus Law Enforcement Professionals. Public Safety was privileged to partner with the ADL and have experts in crime identification/prevention as well as symbol identification share their knowledge with the law enforcement community. Program elements included an overview of hate crimes on campus, the importance of hate crime training/reporting for campus police, and internet and cyber-bullying in relation to criminal acts and hate crimes.

The Anti-Defamation League was founded in 1913 “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” Now the nation’s premier civil rights/human relations agency, ADL fights anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry, defends democratic ideals and protects civil rights for all.
