2014 Broad Street Run
The 2014 Broad Street Run was held on Sunday, May 4th, with a record breaking 40,000 runners. Penn’s Divisions of Public Safety and Facilities and Real Estate Services formed the “Penn Police Running Team”, starting a new tradition of collaboration between the Divisions. All members of the running team successfully completed the race.
DPS also gathered a large group of volunteers to support the run. They began the day at 6am, when the team set up and filled thousands of cups of water and Gatorade. Shortly after the race began the volunteers lined up and handed out the cups one by one to the tens of thousands of runners who passed by. The morning ended with a thorough clean-up of the area. We look forward to participating again next year!
