9-1-1 Outage in PA – Continue to Call PennComm for any police, fire, or medical emergency in the Penn Patrol Zone

UPennAlert: There is a reported sporadic outage of 9-1-1 services throughout the state of Pennsylvania.

Our PennComm Emergency Communications Center is not impacted by this outage. Please continue to call 215-573-3333 for any police, fire or medical emergency within the Penn Patrol zone.

For reporting emergencies outside of our patrol zone, the Philadelphia 9-1-1 system is currently experiencing dropped calls. If you need to call 9-1-1, they are asking callers to call non-emergency lines for their local support districts if needed. Visit Phillypolice.com for a list of district phone numbers.

Also, Penn Police officers will be deployed in high-visibility locations to serve the community. If you need emergency services, please approach an officer for immediate help.

DPS partners with the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD) to support area youths through PAL engagement and events.

The Police Athletic League (PAL) is a non-profit corporation that helps youngsters develop meaningful and productive lives through a variety of educational and recreational programs. PAL programs include a wide variety of sports-related clubs and teams, homework clubs, educational challenges and games, computer labs, and personal programs developed to enhance self-esteem and a positive self-image.

Our Commitment to PAL

The Division of Public Safety has designated a full-time UPPD officer to be assigned to the Police Athletic League. PAL staff and UPPD commanders work together regularly to facilitate youth involvement with Penn Athletics, such as attendance at football and basketball games, and the Penn Relays. Penn students, particularly from fraternities and sororities, have volunteered their time this past year, in mentoring community youth at the PAL center.
